I was the fastest girl on the team. I was at home in the water when nothing else felt familiar. But i never though there'd come a point when it would be so hard to just tread water; unbelievable weight holding you down, the surface just barely at your finger tips. It was all fine until I hit the bottom and I never recovered. Instead, an EMT with a $15 haircut pulled me out of the water while a detective with an awful taste in footwear inspected my body.
